December 2012 we ate at Big Thunder Ranch Barbeque inside Frontierland of the Disneyland Park.

With the price for four of us just around $80 this was a splurge but we had Disney Visa credits to use so the meal didn’t actual cost us anything! We waited about 15 minutes before we were seated. It was my son’s birthday and the waiter made a point of wishing him a happy birthday of course.

The waiter quickly brought out metal buckets of cole slaw (a bit wet but nice and tangy), barbeque beans (which were wonderful), corn bread (crumbly but great with butter), ribs and chicken (all delicious). This is an all-you-care-to-eat place so when the first bucket was empty another was quickly brought.

A mouthful of food but you can see there are buckets more to eat!

I’m not usually a big ribs and beans gal and all-you-care-to-eat places are usually wasted on me but this was so good I had plenty to eat.

And talking about plenty to eat, this kid ate his weight in beans & corn bread…That was the most food this little guy had ever eaten in one sitting!

What do you mean the beans are all gone?

And this one, wow! 2 pieces of chicken, cole slaw, beans and bread and get this…12 ribs!! I think he enjoyed it!

They had singers on the stage who walked through the crowd and said happy birthday to diners. He raised his hand and they sang to him. My son has asked me on each subsequent Disney trip if we can eat at Big Thunder Ranch again, it was such an enjoyable experience.

It's my birthday today!

If you get a chance I do recommend eating lunch at Big Thunder Ranch Barbeque. We were actually so full that we didn’t even eat dinner, just an evening snack! It has a fun atmosphere with outdoor seating on country picnic benches, western singers and a piano player, corny jokes and did I mention it’s all-you-care-to-eat?!

Just the bones.

Big Thunder Ranch BBQ, it might bring out the beast in you!

Bring on the BBQ!
